Tour Description

Discover the grandeur of the World Heritage listed Cape Tribulation, where ancient rainforests encapsulate you with intoxicating sights and sounds and curious local critters – whether furry, scaled, finned or feathered – will pop round to say g’day. Travel back in time to a simpler more innocent era in this ancient wilderness that has miraculously survived, thrived and remained unspoiled (but not unchanged) over its millions of years in the making.

• Indulge in the panoramic view from Mount Alexandra Lookout.
• Unlock the mysteries of over a million years of survival and evolution.
• Delicious picnic BBQ, including fresh, in-season tropical fruits with vegetarians catered for.
• Informative, leisurely Wildlife River Cruise and walking treks.

This well organised all day tour departs from your Cairns (7:00 am), Palm Cove / Northern Beaches (7:30 am) or Port Douglas (8:30 am) accommodation, where you will meet and greet the friendly guides and fellow intrepid travellers in your comfortable coach, all the while viewing the stunning scenery that overlooks the Coral Sea. Travelling via the Capt. Cook Highway, you’ll meander from Cairns to Port Douglas, leisurely moving further north through the cane fields of Mossman, ‘The Sugar Town’. Crossing the beautiful Daintree River by cable ferry, you’ll head to the awe-inspiring Mount Alexandra Lookout to view a panorama of deep blue, crystal clear ocean that meets the mouth of the thunderous Daintree River and combines superbly with the awe inspiring, lush, emerald green rainforest.

Navigate your way through the fragile Cooper Inlet on a Wildlife River Cruise, aboard the only boat (eco-friendly) permitted to utilise this favourite hangout of the saltwater crocodile. Your expert guides have accumulated a large amount of experience, data and expertise regarding this magnificent landscape – join them on informative easy treks beneath the gigantic ancient rainforest canopy, which includes the Marrdja Boardwalk and a superlative palm forest. Look, listen, learn, and ask our guides any questions in relation to the flora, fauna, fish and reptiles of this biologically diverse region. A sumptuous two-course picnic BBQ at lunchtime, which includes juicy fresh in season tropical fruits, will refresh and rejuvenate you for the pleasant afternoon activities.

Magical and mystical is the only way to describe the meeting place of two of the greatest world heritage listed Australian icons – the Daintree and the Great Barrier Reef. Stroll on pristine, picture perfect sandy white beaches fringed with lush rainforest and crammed full of ancient wonders that will enchant and fascinate you at the same time. Gently drift canoe-style in the secluded azure waters of the Blue Lagoon. Increase your appreciation of the wildlife while gazing at the multi-coloured butterflies as they flutter by. Turtles lumber across the rocky ground and slip quietly into the sun-dappled water, while majestically coloured birds fly effortlessly overhead.

With iced water, snacks and fruit juice on-board, plus brollies, coats and insect repellents, you really don’t need to bring a thing except for your camera, for the most spectacular photo shoots imaginable. You’ll be returned to your pickup location at either 5:45 pm (Port Douglas), 6:45 pm (Palm Cove/Northern Beaches) or 7:15 pm (Cairns).
